Our Future

If we all work hard now, our environment will be better in the future. Our daily habits can effect the lives of our children!

Imagine your children growing up in a more damaging environment than you did. We always say that we want our children to have a better life than we ever had, but our actions aren't showing it. The more our generation refuses to recycle, the more trash will be on this earth and the more dangerous it will be for many years to come.

We can help delay the effects of pollution by altering small things in our everyday life. Recycling is a huge component to preserving the earth for the future.

I found a couple examples of effects that are happening right before our eyes. According to an EPA report, sea levels have risen about five inches during the 21st century. This means as they are rising, the closer they are getting to taking away our homes, stores, factories and other everyday uses. It is also reported that as the climate changes due to pollution, it will affect the world’s supply of food. This could be detrimental because we obviously have to have food to survive!

If we are more aware of our everyday habits, I think that it can really help ourselves and the rest of the world for the future.

Social Media Personalities

Based off of the presentations from our class there were a couple of trends that I noticed. Our class is composed of more "generation z" people than "generation y" people. I found this surprising because I just assumed that everyone was my age or older because I am a "generation y." There were also a lot of lurkers and power users. This did not surprise me because that is the type of person that is common in our society and what we grow up knowing as normal.

I am a "generation y" because I was born in 1994 and I was raised knowing how to use technology and I am interested in social media. I would consider myself a spectator the majority of the time because I enjoy reading others blogs and scrolling through different Instagram accounts. Sometimes I am also a creator because for my job, I am in charge of creating content and posting information to university social media pages. I am a content strategist because I don't care who I share my posts with but I like to filter what I am posting. I also choose what to post depending on what my target audience is. I am also a predictable user because my social media accounts are very predictable. I post regularly and I interact with others when I am prompted to.
